Easter Eve Confirmations
Adults and children will be welcomed into the Church of England at a special service of Confirmation at Rotherham Minster on Easter Eve (Saturday 30 March, 7pm).
Each candidate will be presented to the Bishop of Sheffield, Dr Steven Croft, after being prepared for confirmation in the parishes in which they live.
Churches represented at the service include St Thomas Kimberworth, St Paul Masbrough, St Peter & St Paul Todwick, Rotherham Minster and St Mary Worsbrough.
The service of Light with Holy Baptism and Confirmation anticipates the celebration of the resurrection in the Christian calendar the following day (Easter Day).
Vicar of Rotherham, Canon David Bliss, said today: “I am delighted that we are again holding a Confirmation Service at Rotherham Minster when 11 candidates from 5 churches will be confirmed by Bishop Steven.”
He added: “This is a very special moment in each candidate’s life and I hope it will be a memorable occasion for them all.”
